As our Ionian flotillas are a cross between a traditional flotilla (with a dedicated lead boat) and a bareboat charter, we do expect participants to be able to manage most routine situations, such as mooring up in port. However, if unsure about what to do, one of the lead yachts won't be far away to give advice on the radio/mobile phone or assist once they arrive on the scene. Because we ask for a certain level of skippering ability, this also avoids having to come into port early to ensure quayside slots, and means that we can stay out later in order to enjoy the afternoon wind.

Flotillas give a sense of security to those new to sailing or skippering (or who are in an area that's new to them) because the experienced lead crews oversee the sailing and are there in case of any emergency. Our flotilla yachts range in size from 30 to 50ft. and in age are from 2000 and newer. We are covered by a local 24 hour emergency breakdown service in case of any problems encountered whilst free sailing. Flotillas offer the opportunity for experienced skippers to bring friends and family along for the social side of a sailing holiday, and there is always the option of sailing independently from the flotilla - perhaps at the end of the first week - or of sightseeing on land from port.  Another option is a villa - flotilla holiday, with a week ashore at a wide choice of accommodation available from this Lantisworld web site linked with a week's flotilla sailing.

Please note: Our flotillas begin and end on Sunday. You can board your yacht from approx. 17.00 on Sunday afternoon, and must leave your yacht by 09.00am the following Sunday. If you are arriving on Lefkas on a different day then we have a wide range of accommodation to suit all tastes and pockets. We can arrange a hire car to meet you at Preveza airport or your yacht, so that you can create your own fly / drive / sail holiday.

On certain dates we also operate a two-week Cabin Charter and Flotilla route which go much further into the Sea of Corinth and which allow for a couple of non-sailing days to do some sightseeing in such stops as Delphi and Missolonghi (The famous British poet Lord Byron, who supported the Greek struggle for independence, died here in 1824. He is commemorated by a cenotaph containing his heart and a statue located in the town). Two of the legs (to and from the Straits of Patras – the entrance to the Sea of Corinth) are longer then our ‘normal’ daily distance on the one-week route; but this is more then compensated for by the sightseeing stopovers, the scenery and antiquities in this ‘off the beaten track’ cruising area.

The prices are the same as above (2 x 1-week rate) but the on-site cash payment may be a bit more to cover higher administration fees. This is a once in a lifetime experience – do come and share it with us!
