Sleep ashore and sail by day
Do you love to sail occasionally,
but like the comforts of sleeping ashore at night? Or part of a mixed
group who do not all want to sail?
Our day boat hire is just right for
you:
- Our day boats are half way
between a large dinghy and a small yacht
- Normally a
Benetteau 211, 21' or similar (year 2002)
- Up to 6 passengers
- A sailing area of up to 7km
from Nidri, which includes the north of Meganisi, half way down the
Meganisi Channel, and as far as the Mainland. A great variety of
secluded beaches, waterfront tavernas and open sea.
The boats have: A 6 HP Outboard
Engine, Tiller Steering, Furling Genoa and lazy jacks on mainsail. Full
safety equipment including VHF Radio. Raising Keel 0.7-1.8m.
There is a small cabin
downstairs to store your picnic, swimwear and fishing rods - or just
take a break from the sun.
A breakdown / rescue service is
included inside the sailing area.
Qualifications:
- The skipper must be a minimum of a competent dinghy sailor (RYA
Level 3 or above) or similar experience (ie owned and extensively
sailed their own dinghy).
- There is a maximum of six persons per boat. There is a minimum
of two persons for safety reasons
- IMPORTANT: If we judge that you are unable to sail the boat
safely we reserve the right to not allow you to leave port. This is
rare, but if it happens then no refund is due because we have not
been able to rent the boat to another customer. If you are unsure
about your sailing abilities then you could consider our
Two Day Learn to Sail course on these
Day-boats or our one week Live-Aboard Learn to Sail courses whilst
cruising the Ionian Island as part of our small and social flotilla.
Rental periods and times:
- These boats are day boats only. Therefore they can be taken from
09.00 and must be returned to our jetty in Nidri by 17.30 each day
- The minimum rental period is two days, and must be rented in
multiples of 2 days (ie 2, 4, 6...days)
- Normal start days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- On your first day you must collect your boat before
09.00am so
that we can give you safety instructions
